DeWayne K. Wynn Jr.

Dewayne K Wynn Jr. is your 77th District candidate for Bristol,CT in the Democratic Party.

DeWayne's Story

There are moments in every community when we are asked a simple question: What kind of future do we want to build? Not just for ourselves — but for our children, for our neighborhoods, for the families who still believe that tomorrow can be better than today.

And the answer to that question is not found in slogans. It is not found in anger. It is found in people. Good people. Honest people. People willing to do the hard work when nobody is watching.

As the Director of Homeownership and Programs for Habitat for Humanity, he has dedicated his life not to headlines, but to homes. Not to division, but to dignity. He understands that when a family has a safe place to sleep, when a parent has stability, when a child has a neighborhood where they can dream — that is not charity. That is the foundation of a stronger America.

DeWayne believes immigrants deserve the opportunity to live, work, and thrive here in America and right here in Bristol. Because he understands something fundamental — that our diversity is not a weakness to fear, but a strength to embrace. The story of America has always been written by people searching for hope, searching for opportunity, searching for a fair shot.

And in times when some would rather divide neighbor from neighbor, DeWayne chooses unity. He chooses humanity. He chooses community.

Now, we all know there are families struggling right now. Folks working two jobs and still wondering how they’re going to afford rent. Seniors choosing between medicine and groceries. Young people wondering if they’ll ever be able to buy a home in the city they grew up in.

DeWayne doesn’t ignore those problems. He rolls up his sleeves and looks for real financial solutions — partnerships, investments, programs, and resources that actually reach the people who need them most. Because he understands the government should not simply manage crises. It should create opportunity.

And perhaps most importantly, he believes in transparent leadership.

A leader who believes the public deserves honesty. A leader who understands accountability is not optional. A leader who knows trust is earned — not demanded.

That kind of leadership matters now more than ever.

Because investing in people means more than balancing budgets. It means investing in culture. In neighborhoods. In local businesses. In families. In young people who need mentors. In elders who deserve respect. In communities that too often feel forgotten.
